Erik Post

Erik Post (He/Him) is a PhD candidate in geography at the University of British Columbia. His research explores the articulation of violence, geopolitics, and extractivism. His PhD research analyzes the formations of power that entrench extractivisms in Abya Yala (Latin America) in the current conjuncture and the counter-formations of power that realize decolonial climate justice by enabling post-extractivist futures premised on Indigenous resurgence and flourishing. He obtained his Master’s degree in International Affairs at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Prior to his PhD research, he worked for the European Commission, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Crisis Group, and the Belgian Network for Sustainable Development.
