Tashi Tsering

Tashi Tsering is a Ph.D. Candidate at UBC’s Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability. His research looks at social inequalities in the management of scarce resources in the Western Himalayas. Prior to joining UBC, Tashi managed the environment project of Berkeley based NGO, Tibet Justice Center, which does legal advocacy for Tibet. Tashi holds an MA in Political Science from the Portland State University, where he completed a thesis on the politics of water development in China, with a focus on Tibet. Tashi has authored numerous reports on Tibet’s water resources and is regularly consulted by media and organizations on Tibetan environment and development issues.
