Cynthia Morinville

Cynthia is a Master’s student working with Dr Leila Harris at the Institute for Resource, Environment and Sustainability. Her research looks into water governance at the community level in urban Accra, Ghana. More specifically, she is looking at underserved communities’ engagement, participation and negotiation around water access; as well as implications for questions of citizenship and democracy.

She was awarded a SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship, as well as the Tri-Council Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement Canada Graduate Scholarship for this research.

Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Environmental Studies and International Studies from York University (2009), as well as a Certificate in Communication and Media Studies from Université du Québec à Montréal (2010).
